Why do I need a virtual key?

Your Tesla account is used to verify your identity and link your car to your profile. The virtual key is what actually lets the app track your vehicle—securely and without needing your account information every time.

Think of it like logging in once (with your account) to hand over a special pass (the virtual key) so the app can do its job safely in the background.
